What is your philosophy on fitness?
-Fitness should be fun. So many people claim to hate exercise. I think that those people haven’t tried enough activities. There is an activity out there for everyone. Hating exercise is simply an excuse to not look and find an activity that you enjoy. It is pure laziness.
What is your philosophy on exercise?
-Exercise is a necessary part of every day if you intend to live a full, enjoyable life. If you find an activity that you enjoy, getting an hour a day will be easy. If you look forward to it, you will do it.
Why is fitness important to you?
-Fitness is important for obvious health benefits such as low body fat, increased muscle mass, decreased cholesterol, decreased blood pressure, healthy weight, healthy heart and lungs etc. I believe it is equally important for a positive body image, self-esteem, empowerment, self-control, feelings of accomplishment, stress reduction, self protection, improved sleep, and fun!
Why Fit Healthy Edge?
-After a life dedicated to fitness and health, training others, coaching, and raising a family to be mindful of and dedicated to living an active life, I wanted to be able to share my passion with more people. I love being active! I love feeling good and being healthy! I love seeing my family and friends not only make an effort every day to take care of their bodies and their minds, but enjoy the process. Exercise has brought so much joy to my life, I want to be able to help others find that joy. I have built relationships around fitness that have lasted and continue to last. My husband and I spend many hours every week together working towards a common goal of improved health which brings us closer together. I have learned about my children’s dreams and hopes as well as their fears and insecurities while being active together. I can spend an entire day with a group of friends without spending any money, and have fun. I have discovered my greatest strengths and my biggest weaknesses through sport and exercise. I have pushed myself beyond what I ever imagined possible and by doing so, forever changed my views of myself for the better. I have been injured. I have recovered from injury. I have fought with illness. I have been afraid. I have felt overly accomplished. I have been bored. I have not liked an activity. Through it all and despite it all, exercise and activity have always been big components of what helps me to heal, improve, be humbled, learn, change, grow, and become who I am today.
